Dnipropetrovsk Region Targeted in Overnight Assault
According to TSN.ua: In the early hours of February 26, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The strike resulted in injuries to two civilians: an 89-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman. According to the head of the city's Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, approximately ten residential buildings were damaged, including a five-story apartment block that suffered a punctured roof.
Beyond the residential damage, the attack also hit:
- A kindergarten
- A fire station
- Administrative buildings
- Multiple vehicles
An air raid alert was active in Kryvyi Rih from 01:28 until 07:02. The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Ganzha, reported that Russian forces struck two districts of the region nearly twenty times. Simultaneously, in the Zelenodolsk community, solar panels were damaged, while private homes and cars were hit in the Nikopol district.
This assault is part of Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine, now in its third year, which has seen civilian areas repeatedly targeted. The widespread damage to essential community infrastructure underscores the severe humanitarian cost of the conflict and the persistent threat to non-combatants far from the front lines.
