Russia struck Poltava: railway and energy facilities damaged.
According to inkorr.com: On the night of October 7, Russian troops launched an attack on Poltava and the surrounding area, targeting energy and railway facilities. This led to the suspension of train services and power outages in parts of the city. This information was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba.
As a result of the attack, the locomotive depot, energy distance, and traction substations suffered damage. Administrative and warehouse buildings also incurred losses. Fortunately, no one was injured; however, over a thousand households were left without electricity.
“Railway traffic has been stabilized, critical infrastructure is gradually returning to operation,” Kuleba stated.
Measures after the attack
Train services have been restored, power supply has been restored, and assistance to those affected has been organized. Russian aggression aims to paralyze operations during the heating season and create obstacles for Ukrzaliznytsia.
Attacks on Poltava region continue, with cases of injuries and damage. Rescue and fire units are involved in eliminating the consequences.
The massive strike by the Russian army on Poltava and the region has led to serious damage to critical infrastructure facilities, but fortunately, no one was hurt. Authorities are actively working to restore systems and provide assistance to those affected, while Russian aggression continues to cause harm and chaos in the region.
