According to ТСН: The Russian Federation's army continues active actions on the front, concentrating its forces on several directions. In 2026, an increase in the intensity of hostilities is predicted.

Predictions of a military expert

Military expert, reserve major Oleksiy Hetman, during an interview noted that during offensive actions, the army usually chooses several sections of the front - at least two, and sometimes three or four.

“Usually, the army does not have the corresponding resources to carry out powerful offensive actions on a larger number. These two directions have the most combat actions - half of all combat clashes. These are Huliaypole and Pokrovsk,” emphasized Hetman.

Other combat actions on the front are of a local nature and aim to capture or advance positions. Hetman reported that a quarter of the Russian army is concentrated in the Pokrovsk direction, while about one-fifth is in the Zaporizhia direction.

Continuation of hostilities

Hostilities are also ongoing in the Kupiansk direction in the Kharkiv region. The expert expressed concern about whether the occupiers will be able to achieve their set goals, considering the order from the command to capture certain settlements.

Recall that earlier reserve major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Hetman stated that the dictator of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has set a deadline for the occupiers until February. Now the occupiers have a new deadline regarding the capture of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk, as well as Huliaypole in the Zaporizhia region.

These changes in Russia's strategic plans indicate an increase in pressure in the specified directions. In the conditions of constant conflict and tension in the region, both local and large-scale combat actions play an important role. This, in turn, will affect the further development of the situation on the front in the near future.
