Russia will not be able to capture Donbas: CPD explains the reasons.
Russia will not be able to capture Donbas - says CPD
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), stated that even in difficult battles, Russia will not be able to capture Donbas. According to him, the Russians are trying to compress the front in the east, but this is merely an attempt to change the course of events.
'The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service is trying to convince everyone that they will manage to capture the entire Donetsk region by the end of the year. However, this does not correspond to reality and the actual situation at the front,' he emphasized.
Kovalenko also noted that the enemy suffers losses among killed and wounded every day, but additional reserves cannot compensate for these losses.
In addition, he pointed out that Russian military correspondents are increasingly mentioning the Sumy region less often due to losses and the gradual retreat in certain areas.
In the last day, the defense forces of Ukraine liquidated 830 Russian soldiers, destroyed 41 artillery systems, 114 units of equipment, and shot down 315 enemy drones.
