Russia did not plan to implement Trump's plan: the true intentions of the Kremlin revealed.
According to ТСН: The Russian side did not plan to implement the 28-point plan that they handed over to the United States as a possible basis for negotiations from the very beginning.
This was noted by political scientist and international expert Maksym Nesvitailov during a broadcast on Espresso TV.
"Against the backdrop of a serious corruption scandal in Ukraine, political turbulence, and a weakening of support for Zelensky, as well as the actions of the United States at the beginning, Russia did not demonstrate real interest in implementing this plan. Now we know that it was Moscow that prepared it, which only confirms: they had no intention of implementing it," he said.
According to the expert, the document was rather an instrument of blackmail, aimed at forcing Ukraine to sit at the negotiating table or putting it in a difficult position.
"Putin could have come out and declared: 'Here's a wonderful plan from Donald Trump,' as they called it in the media. He could have said: 'Let's sign it as it is - and we have peace tomorrow.' And for Russia, it would have been a fantastic deal. Or he could have stated: 'We are not signing - so we aren't talking.' And the pressure from the United States would have been colossal," Nesvitailov explained.
The expert noted that despite all the risks, some Ukrainians might support such a peace option if they were promised an immediate cessation of the war. However, even such an 'agreement', according to him, would not satisfy the Kremlin.
"Russia did not do this for one simple reason: they weren't satisfied with even such a disgraceful peace for us. They seek much more. This is an existential war fought for annihilation," Nesvitailov emphasized.
He stressed that Putin aims to completely destroy Ukrainian statehood and eradicate everything Ukrainian from the occupied territories.
"If someone does not understand what is happening in the occupation, they should look at the available materials. There, people can find themselves in a basement just for one Ukrainian word," the expert emphasized.
In his opinion, many politicians in the United States do not realize the nature of this war.
"There are people there who do not even know the word 'existential.' How can they understand this war? That is why J.D. Vance makes absurd statements that you can 'just stop shooting and start trading.' One wants to ask: after the 9/11 attacks, why didn't the U.S. just start trading with Afghanistan or Iraq? Why didn't they make cultural exchanges with Al-Qaeda?" he said.
In conclusion, Nesvitailov added that the second reason for Russia's behavior is directly related to China's interests.
It was previously reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky's trip to the U.S. has not yet received final approval from Washington.
It was also previously reported that the son of U.S. President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., publicly accused critics of special envoy Steve Witkoff, who found himself at the center of a scandal due to the leak of transcripts of his conversations with the Russian side.
These events highlight the complex political situation surrounding Ukrainian-Russian relations. The assessments of experts like Maksym Nesvitailov are important for understanding Russia's actions and the overall dynamics of international negotiations. The international community, particularly the U.S., must take into account the depth of the conflict to make effective decisions in aiding Ukraine.
