Civilian Casualties in Kherson Attack
According to UATV: A 37-year-old man was killed and three others were wounded when Russian forces shelled the Korabelnyi district of Kherson on January 31, 2023. The attack highlights the ongoing dangers faced by civilians in southern Ukraine. Among the injured was a 14-year-old boy.
The casualties occurred when a civilian vehicle detonated a PFM-1 'Petal' anti-personnel mine. The blast injured a family group consisting of:
- A 47-year-old man
- A 34-year-old woman
- Two girls, aged two and five
All four sustained injuries from the explosion.
The Kherson Regional State Administration confirmed the teenager's injuries. The situation in the region remains perilous, with local authorities continuing to provide aid to the victims. These strikes are part of a pattern of attacks on the city since its liberation by Ukrainian forces.
