Russian Airstrike on Sloviansk Kills Woman and Damages 14 Buildings.
Sloviansk Targeted by High-Explosive Bombs
According to Novyny.live: On February 1, Russian forces conducted an airstrike on the city of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region, deploying three high-explosive aerial bombs. This attack resulted in the death of one woman and left another person wounded. Among the injured was a 43-year-old resident of the nearby city of Kramatorsk. The use of such unguided munitions in populated areas is a hallmark of Russia's campaign in eastern Ukraine.
The bombardment caused extensive damage, destroying or damaging 14 apartment blocks, three cars, a branch of the 'Nova Poshta' postal service, and one co-working center. This assault provides further evidence of escalating violence against civilian infrastructure in the region.
Pattern of Aggression Continues
In a separate attack also on February 1, Russia struck a maternity hospital in Zaporizhzhia, causing injuries. According to data from Vadym Lyakh, head of the State Emergency Service, shared on Facebook, Russian forces launched over 6,000 drones and hundreds of missiles at Ukraine in January alone. These figures illustrate a sustained and intense bombardment campaign.
These events underscore the continuation of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, particularly in the eastern regions where civilians are increasingly caught in the crossfire. The rising intensity of shelling and the use of indiscriminate weaponry has caused deep concern among the local population and the international community. The ongoing crisis demands urgent action to ensure civilian safety and restore stability.
