Russian Delegation for Abu Dhabi Talks Confirmed

According to TSN.ua: The Kremlin has revealed the composition of the Russian Federation's delegation for negotiations scheduled in Abu Dhabi on February 4-5. The delegation will be headed by Igor Kostyukov, the head of the Main Directorate of the Russian General Staff. These talks represent a significant diplomatic engagement in the ongoing dialogue between the involved parties.

The delegation's makeup will remain unchanged from previous meetings, indicating a consistent approach from the Russian side. A second round of security working group talks, involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States, is also planned for the same dates.

Spokesperson's Commentary

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian president, noted that the composition of the Russian delegation for the Ukraine-related talks in Abu Dhabi will remain unchanged.

He further emphasized that contact between leaders is possible, but only on the condition that a meeting takes place in Moscow. The Russian side continues to insist on its own terms for dialogue, highlighting the protracted and complex nature of the negotiation process in this context.

Consequently, the upcoming talks in Abu Dhabi present a crucial opportunity to discuss security issues, though their outcome will depend on all parties' readiness for constructive dialogue. Russia's position, which demands specific conditions for high-level meetings, could influence the dynamics of the talks, underscoring the existing difficulties in reaching compromises amidst regional tensions.
