Russian occupiers are installing rear-view cameras on their reconnaissance drones to detect Ukrainian anti-aircraft FPV drones. According to Defence Express, this technology was implemented in just two weeks. The first case of using this camera was noticed after one such drone was shot down by Ukrainian forces.

In the photo of the downed drone, most likely the Zala 421 model, a tiny camera connected to a special Russian-made device with antennas can be seen. It helps detect the approach of Ukrainian FPV drones and avoid attacks.

However, although these reconnaissance drones have technical innovations, they cannot perform complex maneuvers. Therefore, one possible way to avoid an attack might be to try to increase speed.

«The overall effectiveness of this solution remains in question. However, the fact that the enemy has quickly moved to the practical implementation of countermeasures against anti-aircraft FPV drones is noteworthy. And, evidently, the list of countermeasures will grow. For example, the enemy may try to install small EW (Electronic Warfare) means on their reconnaissance drones,» Beskrestnov predicts.

It should be noted that the Russian Federation spends about $1.2 billion on missile production monthly. Of this, $1.1 billion goes to missile production, and only about $100 million goes to drones.

It is worth noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian factories producing military equipment and weapons are increasing their production by circumventing sanctions.
