Russia is using ElevenLabs AI to generate voices to undermine support for Ukraine.
According to a report by Recorded Future, Russia has launched a new propaganda campaign using artificial intelligence from ElevenLabs aimed at discrediting Ukraine and undermining assistance from European countries.
The report states that this campaign was organized by the 'Social Design Agency', a Russian entity that is under U.S. sanctions. In videos targeting European audiences, Ukrainian politicians are accused of corruption, and American Abrams tanks are portrayed as ineffective.
The main tool of this propaganda campaign has been artificially created voices. Recorded Future claims that the organizers used ElevenLabs technology to create audio that was voiced in various European languages without an accent, including English, German, French, and Polish.
It is also noted that several videos were voiced by real people, and a noticeable Russian accent is present.
According to The Guardian, Russia is using artificial intelligence in drones to avoid Ukrainian air defense. However, the publication states that the effectiveness of this technology is unclear, and Russia manages to produce 'hundreds' of drones within a week, but there are no exact figures.
Additionally, Google is implementing an AI system based on Gemini in its geoservices such as Google Maps, Google Earth, and Waze.
