According to inkorr.com: Russian MiG-31 aircraft with the 'Kinzhal' aviation complex conducted training over the Barents Sea as part of the strategic military maneuvers 'Zapad-2025'. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, crews improved their techniques for airstrikes on important enemy targets; the flight duration was about four hours.

“During the performance of the training combat task, the crews practiced delivering a simulated airstrike on critically important facilities of a hypothetical enemy. The flight duration was about four hours” - the Ministry of Defense's statement says.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the military exercises were conducted taking into account the experience gained during previous operations.

Joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus

From September 12 to 16, 2025, Russia and Belarus plan to conduct joint military exercises 'Zapad-2025' in order to exert psychological pressure and create tension. As Nikolai Sungurovsky from the Razumkov Center says, Russia is trying to intimidate Europe by concentrating troops at the borders, focusing on the east and north of NATO borders, while Ukraine is concentrating on the northwestern border.

The head of Ukraine's military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, warned of increased informational tension that will begin on September 12 when the 'Zapad-2025' exercises start in Belarus. In particular, Poland will close its border with Belarus during this period.

Military comments indicate prolonged activity of armed forces and escalating situations in Eastern Europe due to the joint exercises of Russia and Belarus, which are of strategic significance.

These maneuvers once again demonstrate the intensification of military tensions in the region, where the presence of Russian forces raises concerns among neighboring countries. Simultaneously with the exercises, tensions are rising at the borders, and European countries must be prepared to respond to potential changes in the situation that could affect the security of the entire continent.
