Kharkiv Shelling on March 7

According to Novyny.live: A Russian ballistic missile struck a residential district of Kharkiv on March 7, 2023, killing 10 people—including two children—and wounding 16 others, three of whom were also children. The attack caused extensive destruction. Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, has been a frequent target since the full-scale invasion began.

The strike completely destroyed one section of a five-story apartment building. In total, 17 buildings, a school, and critical city infrastructure were damaged. Preliminary reports indicate the missile was likely an 'Izdeliye-30' with an 800-kilogram warhead.

Rescue workers reported: 'Currently, we know of 10 dead, including two children. Another 16 people are injured, three of them children.'

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that 'the building hit by the occupiers cannot be restored.' This tragedy is another stark example of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by the war.

Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine

The March 7 attack on Kharkiv underscores the prolonged and brutal nature of the conflict, which continues to have devastating consequences for civilians. The massive destruction and loss of innocent lives, including children, has heightened international concern over safety and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. It also highlights the urgent need for efforts to secure peace and protect civilians from such attacks in the future.
