Shelling of the Kharkiv region by Russian troops continues

On November 17, 2024, Russian troops continued to shell the territory of the Kharkiv region. There were no recorded strikes on the city of Kharkiv during the day. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration Oleg Synegubov.

Shelling incidents in the Kharkiv region over the past day:

• 23:10 Bohodukhiv district, Zolochiv Territorial Community, village Basove, village Odnorobivka. Strike of KAB in open area.
• 22:06 Kupiansk district, Kupiansk territorial community, city of Kupiansk. A private house was destroyed as a result of the shelling.
• 21:51 Kupiansk district, Kupiansk Territorial Community, city of Kupiansk. Due to the shelling, apartments on the fifth and fourth floors of a multi-story residential building are burning. A 65-year-old woman was injured.
• 21:20 Kupiansk district, Kupiansk Territorial Community, city of Kupiansk. A private house, garage, and 10 cars were damaged as a result of the shelling. A 50-year-old woman was injured.
• 16:36 Kharkiv district, Derhachi Territorial Community, village of Ruska Lozova. A fire broke out on the roof of a warehouse building due to falling debris from two downed Shahed UAVs.
• 14:50 Kupiansk district, Kurylivska Territorial Community, village Hlushkivka. An 84-year-old man received a blast injury as a result of the shelling.
• 12:00 Kupiansk district, Kupiansk Territorial Community, city of Kupiansk. A private house was damaged due to shelling.
• 09:10 Bohodukhiv district, Zolochiv Territorial Community. Shelling in the open area near the village of Baranivka (three KAB) and (one KAB) in the open area near the village of Stohnii.

Recall that Russian invaders intensified their offensive near Kupiansk. The occupiers reached the Oskil River. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom, citing intelligence data on Twitter. In particular, British intelligence notes that south of Kupiansk, Russian troops reached the Oskil River, disrupting Ukrainian logistical lines on the eastern bank of the river. The Russian grouping south of Kupiansk is expanding. The RF is trying to increase pressure on Ukrainian forces in this area.

As reported, on November 13, the Russians managed to break into the outskirts of the city of Kupiansk and land their troops there. However, they were eliminated. This was stated by the head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration Andriy Besedin. The Russian troops were unable to establish themselves in the city. Instead, by November 14, the situation in Kupiansk was under control.
