Aftermath of a Nighttime Attack on the Zaporizhzhia Region
According to Novyny.live: Russian forces shelled the town of Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region overnight on March 2, wounding two children. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the victims are two girls, aged 9 and 15. This attack is part of a wider pattern of strikes on civilian areas in southern Ukraine, which have intensified in recent months.
The shelling destroyed one house and damaged several neighboring buildings. Medical assistance is being provided to the wounded children. This incident follows a deadly Russian attack on the city of Kherson on March 1, which resulted in civilian fatalities.
Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis in the Region
This strike is part of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which continues to inflict severe harm on the civilian population. Attacks on non-combatants, particularly children, have drawn widespread international condemnation and underscore the persistent humanitarian emergency in the region.
Such incidents serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need to find paths toward a peaceful resolution and to ensure the protection of civilians under international law.
