Fighters from the 8th Separate Assault Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade 'Edelweiss' shared how the cleanup of Novomlynsk from Russian occupiers was conducted. This was reported by DeepState.

The assault operations began with the formation of a column of vehicles with airdrop M113 and BMP-1s from the First Rapid Response Group (GRG). They were led by an attached tank crew from the 2nd Tank Battalion. They attacked the central positions of the enemy. The column split, and each vehicle made a dash toward enemy positions. After that, the assault groups dismounted from the vehicles and attacked the enemy trenches.

«From the first assault, we managed to partially break through to the enemy's positions, but not completely, as some Russian fortifications resisted. The second assault, supported by the vehicles, strengthened the assault groups, allowing us to capture all objectives. The enemy decided to counterattack a key position that controlled Novomlynsk. They weakened their positions on the left flank. The enemy withdrew infantry from two positions and reinforced our position. But thanks to the actions of other groups, we were able to fully capture the positions», the military reported.

When the Russians realized they were trapped from both sides and being dismantled by all possible means, they began to flee in panic across the river.

As a result of the assault actions, the occupiers started to flee however they could. Some used boats, while others swam across the river themselves, and the military destroyed crossings and tried to inflict as much damage as possible to the enemy army, the military reported.
