Attacks on railway infrastructure
Attacks on Ukraine's railway infrastructure have become more frequent. Russian Shahed drones are delivering strikes with high accuracy, posing a threat to both military and commercial transport.
Since the mid-summer of 2025, Russia has intensified attacks on Ukraine's railway infrastructure, using 'Shahed' drones. As noted by the head of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertzovsky, strikes on locomotives and substations are aimed not only at harming military cargo but also at creating panic among passengers and negatively impacting the economy. Modernized drones allow Russia to accurately hit civilian infrastructure, increasing the effectiveness of its attacks.
The recent drone attack in Chernihiv is just one of many cases of Russian Shahed drones attacking Ukrainian infrastructure. Such actions pose a threat to both civilian and military transport, and their intensification increases risks for the Ukrainian economy and security of the country.
Attacks on Ukrainian railway infrastructure continue to raise serious concern among experts and the public. Constant strikes from the Russian Federation not only damage transport vehicles but also create a dangerous situation for passengers and freight transportation. In such circumstances, it is important to strengthen security measures and protect critical infrastructure to minimize the consequences of these aggressive actions.Read also
