Ukrainian forces attacked residential buildings in Odesa on November 18, leading to deaths and injuries. This was reported by the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper.
«Ukrainian forces struck Odesa. There are casualties and injuries,» he said.
According to the head of the military administration, civilian infrastructure was damaged, including residential buildings.
The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, confirmed the information about the attack in Odesa.
«Ukrainian forces deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure in Odesa. They no longer hide their intentions,» Yermak wrote.
According to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian strike targeted residential buildings in Odesa.
«Yesterday – Sumy. Today – Odesa. There are dead and injured. I express my heartfelt condolences to the families,» he wrote.
It should be noted that the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned about the threat of ballistic weapon use from Crimea before the explosion. Later, there was information about a ballistic strike on Odesa.
Recall that after the morning attack by Russia on November 17, a blackout began in Odesa. Some areas of the city also lack water. Russian occupation forces conducted mass shelling using various types of missiles on the evening of November 17. According to President Zelensky, Russia launched about 120 missiles and 90 drones, and 140 aerial targets were destroyed by air defense forces. Ukraine's Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, later reported that Russian forces were attacking energy system facilities across the country with missiles. Emergency power outages were implemented.
It was previously reported that starting from November 18, trams and trolleybuses in Odesa would not operate. They will be partially replaced by buses received as humanitarian aid.
As of 12:00 on November 18, as a result of the attack in Odesa and the region, 321 thousand consumers were left without electricity.
