Ukrainian Military Intelligence Urges Russian Troops to Surrender Amid Starvation Crisis.
Dire Conditions on the Front Lines
According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian military intelligence is calling on Russian soldiers to surrender, citing a critical lack of food and water on their positions. This severe shortage exposes a fundamental failure in the Russian command's ability to organize basic supply lines for its troops. The ongoing full-scale invasion has stretched Russian logistics thin, making such frontline failures increasingly common.
As of the morning of February 3, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated 1,242,290 Russian military personnel. In the past day alone, an additional 760 Russian troops were liquidated, underscoring the intense and costly nature of the fighting. In a related incident, a wounded serviceman from the 5th Battalion of the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, after escaping captivity, managed to bring two Russian soldiers with him.
Accounts of Severe Deprivation
Firsthand accounts from Russian soldiers paint a grim picture of their conditions. One soldier described a comrade, stating:
“his uniform hangs on him like on a hanger”, while another added:
“only skin, bones, and a beard are left”. These stark descriptions highlight the extreme deprivation faced by Russian forces at the front.
The frontline situation remains highly tense, and the persistent problems with food and water supply are likely to significantly undermine the combat readiness of Russian units. The surrender appeals from Ukrainian intelligence represent a strategic effort to exploit these logistical weaknesses and reduce enemy manpower. Simultaneously, the mounting casualties are putting immense strain on the morale and cohesion of the remaining Russian forces.
