Russian fighters violated the borders of Estonia: ignored NATO signals.
According to inkorr.com: Russian fighters that entered the airspace of Estonia ignored signals from Italian aircraft participating in NATO's patrolling mission in the Baltic region. According to reports from the Estonian military, three MiG-31 fighters crossed Estonian airspace between 9:58 and 10:10 AM near the island of Vaindloo in the Gulf of Finland. This is already the fourth incident this year.
Colonel Ants Kiviselg, commander of the Estonian Military Intelligence Center, stated: 'It still needs to be confirmed whether the border violation was intentional or not. Nevertheless, the Russian aircraft were apparently aware that they were in (Estonian) airspace.'
He noted that the Russian planes posed no immediate threat, but they ignored NATO pilots' signals. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky considers this violation part of a Russian campaign to create destabilization in Western countries.
Reaction from the US president and the statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense
US President Donald Trump stated that he would be provided with details of this incident, noting that 'he does not like it'. The Russian Ministry of Defense denies that the MiG-31 fighters violated Estonia's airspace during a scheduled flight from Karelia to the Kaliningrad region.
The incident involving Russian fighters who violated Estonia's airspace and ignored NATO signals has raised concerns among global leaders, including the President of Ukraine and the President of the United States. Statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which denies the accusations, underline the tension in relations between Russia and Western countries, which may affect the further development of the situation in the region.
