Over Two Million Ukrainians Used European Roaming Services in 2025.
European Roaming Sees Significant Uptake Among Ukrainian Users
According to TSN.ua: The number of Ukrainians using mobile roaming services in Europe continues to climb. In 2024, approximately 1.8 million people used roaming, a figure that grew to surpass 2 million in 2025. This increase highlights a rising demand for mobile connectivity while traveling abroad. The average data consumption per user also rose, from 7.2 GB in 2024 to 8.1 GB in 2025.
A key driver of this growth is the 'Roam Like at Home' service, which was used by 4.8 million customers in 2025, proving vital for Ukrainians abroad. Poland remained the most popular destination for usage. The trend shows no sign of slowing; in the first weeks of January 2026 alone, 1.8 million people had already utilized roaming services. This sustained demand reflects the ongoing mobility and international connections of Ukrainian citizens.
Expanding Access to Roaming Services
As of January 1, 2026, the roaming service is available in 32 countries worldwide. Svitlana Oleksiienko noted that this is an example of how the state, businesses, and citizens are collectively integrating Ukraine into Europe's unified digital space. The growth in user numbers and average data traffic underscores the critical importance of accessible roaming for Ukrainians in today's interconnected world.
The rising popularity of roaming services points to increased population mobility and the essential need to stay connected while traveling. In an era of globalization, with more Ukrainians traveling and working abroad, such services are becoming increasingly relevant. This trend also signals Ukraine's successful integration into the international digital landscape, which can foster stronger economic and social ties with other nations.
