The demining units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that they have successfully cleared over 252 thousand hectares of territory from dangerous objects, the largest part of which is agricultural land. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry.

In addition, residents of agricultural farms independently cleared more than 232 thousand hectares, as well as 538.64 km of highways and 163.26 km of power lines.

In particular, sappers conducted mine clearance:

• 444.94 km of railways;
• 52.41 km of pipelines;
• 178.49 hectares of land for residential development;
• 37 hectares of water areas.

In a year, 137,821 dangerous objects were neutralized. The total number of explosive objects that have been destroyed since the beginning of the Russian aggression amounts to 416,877 units.

This year, 48 new operators received licenses for demining. In total, there are 72 operators in Ukraine who are authorized to conduct humanitarian demining in areas where there are no combat operations.

According to the Law of Ukraine 'On Mine Action in Ukraine', humanitarian demining is exclusively carried out by operators of mine action.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine engages demining units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service for clearing liberated territories from explosive objects.

Recently, there has been an increase in cases of remote mining in the Kherson region by Russian troops. Several cases of mine layouts have been recorded in Kherson and between settlements. This was reported by the head of the city military administration in Kherson, Roman Mrochko. He also noted that the level of danger increases during the period when there are many fallen leaves on the ground.

A man who suffered from the explosion of an anti-mine mine was hospitalized in Berislav district of Kherson region.
