SBU strikes third oil platform of the Russian Federation in the Caspian Sea: operation details.
Destruction of the Russian oil extraction platform
According to ТСН: Long-range drones of the Security Service of Ukraine attacked the third Russian oil extraction platform in the Caspian Sea. This time, the platform of the "Rakushechne" field was targeted, leading to the halt of critical production processes.
The target of the attack was the drilling platform at the "Rakushechne" field (named after Valeriy Graifery), owned by the Russian company "Lukoil." Footage from a drone's onboard camera captured damage to the gas turbine unit of the platform — an important element on which its operation depends.
Previously, SBU drones have already struck ice-resistant oil extraction platforms at the fields named after Filanovsky and Korchagin in the Caspian Sea. As a result of these attacks, the operations of these entities were also suspended.
"SBU continues to systematically reduce oil dollar revenues to the Russian war budget. All facilities that finance aggression against Ukraine are absolutely legitimate targets."
The Security Service of Ukraine is actively increasing the scale of attacks on Russia's energy sector. Platforms in the Caspian Sea play a crucial strategic role, ensuring uninterrupted extraction and export of energy resources. Taking them out of commission increases economic pressure on Russia and reduces its financial capacity to continue the war against Ukraine.
These strikes are part of a systemic strategy aimed at the long-term weakening of the enemy's resource potential.
The Security Service of Ukraine has also struck the tanker of the RF's "shadow fleet" QENDIL with aerial drones in neutral waters of the Mediterranean Sea for the first time, inflicting critical damage from more than 2000 km away from the Ukrainian border, rendering the vessel inoperative.
These actions emphasize Ukraine's determination in fighting against Russian aggression, delivering significant blows to its energy resources. Continuous attacks on oil and gas infrastructure not only disrupt Russia's economic ties but also provide Ukraine with a tactical advantage during military operations.
