The Secretary of the Cherkasy City Council Got Involved in a Scandal Over His Wife's Handbag.
Currently, officials in Cherkasy are under investigation due to an inquiry published by the newspaper '18000'. The material mentions that the wife of the city council secretary, Maria Trenkin, was spotted at a funeral with an expensive handbag valued at 70,000 euros. Additionally, the material describes the property used by Trenkin, but which actually belongs to his relatives and driver. One of the assets is an SUV, purchased from the company 'Auto-masterok', but in reality belongs to Trenkin's mother. According to media reports, this car is used by the city council secretary's wife.
Trenkin was offered a comment but refused, using a messenger for communication. However, after the publication of the investigation, the Cherkasy City Council expressed its position on its official website.
'We draw your attention to the fact that you are limited to considering the surface of their lives and focusing on material things that do not have substantial meaning in the context of reality and the problems we face,' the comment states.
The administration also emphasized that the handbag from the investigation and the secretary's wife's footwear are not originals but are simply items available to anyone of any social status.
'These are not branded items, but objects that can be used by various people since they are available on the market,' the publication states.
The Mayor of Cherkasy, Anatoliy Bondarenko, decided to express his opinion on social networks. In a comment, he advised journalists to figure out the cost of the secretary's wife's lingerie and called the newspaper '18000' a 'compendium of tricks'.
Recall that former member of parliament Vitaly Khomutynnik, who disappeared from political life after the invasion began, also found himself in the spotlight. He unloaded a Ukrainian luxury car, the Rolls-Royce Spectre, worth over 500 million euros, and transported it abroad almost immediately after purchase.
In addition, MP Hennady Vatsak from the party 'Dovira' acquired another Rolls-Royce Spectre worth over 500 million euros. This is already the second car he has purchased in the past two years.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre is the company's first electric vehicle, which started production in 2023. According to journalists, such cars cannot be purchased at the dealership, and Ukrainians who wish to become owners must stand in line.
