Drone Strikes in Sumy Region Injure 11 Civilians.
Multiple Drone Attacks Target Sumy
According to TSN.ua: A series of hostile drone strikes hit the city of Sumy and its surrounding region on February 17, injuring 11 people. The attack focused on the city center, causing significant destruction. Among the wounded is a 28-year-old woman, who is currently hospitalized. These attacks are part of a wider pattern of strikes on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure far from the front lines.
In the Bilopillia community, four civilians were also wounded. Two men, aged 39 and 52, were hospitalized with serious injuries. This incident follows a recent attack on February 13, when Russian forces shelled a children's hospital in Sumy, an act that provoked widespread outrage and condemnation.
Regional Tensions Remain High
The situation in the area remains tense, with local authorities urging residents to adhere to safety protocols. These events underscore the growing threat to civilians in the Sumy region, where assaults on residential areas and social institutions are becoming increasingly frequent. The critical conditions highlight an urgent need for enhanced safety measures and emergency preparedness for local inhabitants.
Officials continue to call for public vigilance and strict compliance with safety recommendations to mitigate risks during enemy attacks.
