Russian Army Imposes Artillery Shell Limits: What This Means for the Frontline.
Drop in Russian Artillery Usage
According to UATV: Ukraine has observed a decline in how often Russian forces fire artillery shells. This shift follows strikes on supply routes and storage depots, prompting Moscow's commanders to set new restrictions on artillery use. Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, stated:
“The command has imposed limits on the use of artillery ammunition.”
Shifts in Russian Military Tactics
Additionally, Russian troops are now using fewer weapon systems that operate close to the front line. This marks a change in their battlefield approach.
“The Russians are reducing the use of weapon types located closer to the front line,”Voloshyn explained.
Reports also indicate that Russia's military leadership has banned the transport of military cargo through the land corridor to Crimea, a move that could hinder the army's logistics. As artillery usage drops, Russian forces have started relying more on airstrikes instead, suggesting they are adapting to evolving combat conditions.
These tactical shifts could significantly impact the current situation at the front. Cutting back on artillery and turning to air power reflects an effort to adjust to changing circumstances while trying to maintain combat effectiveness. The ban on moving supplies through Crimea further points to possible logistical bottlenecks, which may weaken Russia's ability to sustain its operations in the region.
