Massive Explosions in Crimea Leave Sevastopol Without Power.
Blackout in Sevastopol
According to Novyny.live: During the night of July 6, a series of powerful explosions rocked the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula, particularly in Sevastopol. The blasts, which occurred near Kerch and close to the Simferopol thermal power plant, caused a city-wide power outage and halted public transportation.
Sevastopol is currently without electricity, and trolleybuses have stopped running. The previous night, on July 5, Ukrainian forces struck several key Russian military targets in Crimea. These included a railway bridge, an electronic warfare station, and a Russian electronic intelligence unit.
Sergei Aksyonov, head of the occupation administration, stated: 'As a result of an enemy attack on energy infrastructure outside Sevastopol, our city has been temporarily left without power.'
The situation in the region remains tense, and the full impact of the explosions has yet to be assessed.
Impact on Local Residents
This incident is part of a broader military campaign in the region, where Ukrainian forces continue operations aimed at degrading enemy military infrastructure. The lack of electricity and public transport could significantly disrupt daily life and mobility for local residents, already sparking concern among the population.
Observers anticipate that such actions may have both short- and long-term consequences for security and stability in Crimea.
