According to UATV: On March 16, 2023, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on the European Union to release a €90 billion loan for Ukraine that had already been approved. Sybiha stressed that any form of blackmail against Ukraine is completely unacceptable, regardless of the circumstances.

At the same time, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced that Budapest would keep blocking financial decisions in Ukraine's favor. Szijjártó stated this applies not only to financial assistance but also to new sanctions against Russia.
