Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief Announces Frontline Return for Reservists, Criminal Cases for Draft Evaders.
Reservists to Be Deployed to Combat Units
According to Novyny.live: Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has announced that military personnel who previously served on conscription and are now in the reserve may be called back to active combat units. This policy applies to airborne assault forces, mechanized units, and territorial defense formations. These decisions are being made based on the intensity of hostilities and the situation at the front, which determines the need for personnel reinforcements. This move comes as Ukraine seeks to bolster its defensive lines against ongoing Russian assaults.
Furthermore, Syrskyi noted that criminal proceedings are being initiated against those who evade military service. This represents a significant step in enforcing the fulfillment of military duty.
'We are prioritizing the staffing of those units performing tasks on the most intense sections of the front. Where active combat is taking place, there are, unfortunately, losses and a consequent need to replenish personnel,' emphasized Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Legislative Initiatives
In parallel, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada is preparing a draft law concerning conscription service in the reserve, highlighting the state's active measures regarding defense capability and military resource mobilization.
These measures underscore the seriousness of the frontline situation and the necessity of maintaining the combat readiness of Ukrainian military formations. The recall of reservists, coupled with new legislative initiatives, demonstrates the state's proactive steps to ensure defense capacity amid the protracted conflict. In line with legislative changes, stricter enforcement of military duty is anticipated, which may significantly impact the overall mobilization landscape in the country.
