The Situation is Critical: Popenko Warned of a Threat to the Energy System Due to Reservation Review.
A serious problem with personnel shortage arises in the energy sector of Ukraine, especially this will worsen after the review of employee reservations. This opinion was expressed by energy expert Oleh Popenko in an interview with "News Live". According to him, the staffing schedule filling rate of utility companies in 2019 was more than 60%, whereas now the deficit of employees in energy companies reaches 60%.
Oleh Popenko also emphasized that this situation may change for the worse even after November 15, when up to 20% of companies may lose the right to reserve employees. The government plans to review the list of critically important enterprises, including defense and energy sectors, and the number of reserved employees may be significantly reduced.
If we stop reserving energy companies now, there will be no one to conduct capital repairs and restore equipment after Russian shelling tomorrow
Oleh Popenko also pointed out the problem of low salaries in the energy sector. According to him, the average salary of an electrician at Ukrenergo is approximately 14,000 hryvnias, while the level of responsibility and life risks remain high.
Earlier, Oleh Popenko criticized the installation of solar panels on high-rise buildings.
