How many houses and schools the Russians have bombed in Kharkiv. The mayor revealed the horrific statistics.
Since February 24, 2024, there have been 4414 damaged multi-storey buildings and 3680 buildings in the private sector recorded in Kharkiv. More than half of the school fund has also been damaged - 134 schools out of 184 and 109 kindergartens out of 205. This was stated by the mayor of the city, Igor Terekhov, in an interview with 'Glavkom'.
According to him, only in October of this year, 400 residential buildings were damaged in the city by enemy strikes, and during the two weeks of November, 144 multi-storey buildings and 22 houses in the private sector were damaged.
'In addition to Derzhprom, other architectural monuments in Kharkiv were also damaged, such as the Beketov buildings, the Korolenko Library, and many other architectural landmarks. Many historical buildings that create the architectural ensemble of Kharkiv have been partially or completely destroyed,' Terekhov said.
Buildings of higher educational institutions were also damaged, including Karazin University, the Polytechnic Institute, and others. According to the mayor's statements, the Northern Saltivka district suffered the most due to constant shelling.
'This area has been shelled directly by enemy fire since the beginning of the invasion when the enemy was on the ring road near Kharkiv. Nearly all residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, and hospitals in this area have been damaged by shelling,' the mayor emphasized.
Terekhov stressed that Kharkiv is constantly under shelling due to its location near the border with the Russian Federation. He added that there is no district in the city that has not suffered from shelling.
Attack on Kharkiv
On November 25, Russian troops struck the Kyiv district of Kharkiv. It is likely that the strike was delivered by an S-400 missile, and the number of damaged buildings has increased to 41. Preliminary data indicates that 19 people were injured in the Russian attack.
Russia also attacked the Kyiv district of Kharkiv on November 19. 10 people were injured, among them the youngest being 18 years old. One of the injured was hospitalized in serious condition, while the others were hospitalized with lighter injuries.
