Shmyhal discussed support for Ukraine with the Italian Minister of Defense.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, had a phone conversation on Thursday, July 31, with the Minister of Defense of Italy, Guido Crosetto. During the conversation, they discussed the development of joint weapons production.
Shmyhal wrote on Telegram: 'In this context, we rely on strengthening cooperation and developing important defense projects between our countries and companies.'
Additional support from Italy
Shmyhal and Crosetto discussed the development of joint weapons production and the possibility of additional supply of air defense systems. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine thanked Italy for participating in the EU SAFE defense fund of 150 billion euros and for the support in arms supply and training of new ones. He also informed his Italian counterpart about the events of the military conflict with Russia.
'We feel strong support from our Italian friends. We are strengthening our strategic partnership in the defense sector. We are grateful to Italy for its solidarity with Ukraine,' emphasized Shmyhal.

They discussed the possibilities of developing military equipment production and implementing new projects. Support from Italy is crucial for Ukraine in the context of strengthening the country's defense capabilities amid the military conflict in the east of the country.
