The companion of the Italian who praised Putin voluntarily returned with him abroad.
According to ТСН: The story of the Italian who, on a bus, called for the glory of dictator Putin and received a ban on entering Ukraine has new details. It turns out that the fate of the Ukrainian woman who accompanied him is also interesting.
Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, clarified the couple's status on the air of 'Kyiv 24'. Despite the joint trip and gifts in the form of embroidery, officially they are not married.
Demchenko reported that after the Italian named Rocco was denied passage into Ukraine due to his anti-Ukrainian stance, his companion did not want to continue the journey to her homeland alone.
'Instead, the woman herself expressed a desire not to enter the territory of Ukraine but to return with this man in the opposite direction,' Demchenko noted.
The spokesperson also commented on the wave of disinformation spreading on social media. Some began to assume that the Ukrainian border guards could have denied the woman entry due to her partner's behavior. Demchenko called these claims absurd.
'I often see on social media: did we deny Ukrainians entry into Ukraine? This is a bit absurd because the Constitution prohibits refusing under any circumstances for Ukrainians to return home,' Demchenko emphasized.
Demchenko stressed that a citizen of Ukraine has the right to enter their state under any circumstances. The woman's return abroad was exclusively her personal and voluntary decision.
It is worth recalling that earlier, the Italian Rocco, traveling by bus to Ukraine, caused a scandal by praising Putin and calling his trip 'a journey to Russia through Ukraine'. At the border, he was stopped by State Border Guard Service officers and a ban on entry was issued.
This situation once again emphasizes the importance of ensuring security at the border, especially in conditions of international tension. The ban on entry for individuals with anti-Ukrainian views is part of the state's policy aimed at protecting national interests and security. Citizens of Ukraine will always have the right to return home, regardless of the circumstances that arise.
