Russia prepares an offensive in Kharkiv region: new plans of the occupiers for January.
According to ТСН: In the Kharkiv region, units of the Russian occupiers are regrouping and plan to try to bypass the city of Vovchansk in January in order to reach Lyman.
Spokesman for the Joint Forces grouping Viktor Trehubov reported in a national telemarathon that the Russians are currently not conducting active combat operations and are focused on regrouping.
“They are more focused on testing our defensive line along our entire area of responsibility and on regrouping their forces,” Trehubov stated.
He noted that in Dvorichne, Kharkiv region, no active assaults have been recorded over the past day.
“This means that the Russians are simply preparing for their renewal in the coming days,” said the spokesman.
Trehubov emphasized the importance of not allowing the enemy to cross the Oskil River when it has frozen. He also pointed to the transfer of enemy forces to the Kupyan direction from less active fronts and from Russian territory.
“It is already obvious that they have goals for January: to bypass Vovchansk, eliminate the Ukrainian foothold east of Kupyansk, reach Lyman and conduct infiltration in Lyman itself,” the spokesman noted.
Trehubov also added that the enemy tried to implement these plans last fall, but without success, and expressed confidence that this time would be the same.
Recall that earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the occupiers fully captured Kupyansk and Vovchansk in Kharkiv region.
Ukrainian military showed what Kupyansk looks like today: the RF army has turned the city into ruins and total devastation.
The situation in the Kharkiv region remains tense as Russian troops attempt to strengthen their positions. In winter conditions, when rivers freeze, strategic movements can significantly impact the course of combat operations. Ukrainian forces remain on alert to counter new enemy attempts to advance deeper into the territory.
