Sociologist predicted who among the refugees will return to Ukraine from abroad.
The return of Ukrainians from abroad occurs for various reasons, however, according to demographer Libanova, highly qualified specialists are most likely to come back. She noted that the first to return are those who have a business, their own housing, and high earnings in Ukraine. At the same time, people without a job and in case of destroyed housing have less chance of returning.
The honeymoon with European life is already over
Ukrainians who are abroad face difficulties related to differences in education, medicine, and available food. The problem of non-recognition of qualifications and diplomas is especially relevant. Demographer Libanova shared her own experience when she, as a PhD and doctor, received less recognition of her qualification abroad.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has previously expressed statements about the problem of non-recognition and bureaucratization of the recognition of Ukrainian doctors' diplomas, calling on the federal states to pay attention to this issue.
