Suspect Held in Germany Over Darknet ‘Death List’ Targeting Scholz and Merkel.
Arrest Made in Germany
According to TSN.ua: A man has been taken into custody in Germany for urging attacks on politicians and managing a darknet platform that collected donations for potential bounties. The arrest took place in Dortmund on Monday evening. The suspect faces charges of financing terrorism and incitement to commit serious acts of violence.
Darknet Activity
According to investigators, the individual had been running an anonymous online forum since May 2025, where more than 20 names were posted—including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and former Chancellor Angela Merkel. The platform also contained what authorities described as 'criminal cases' and 'death sentences' against judges and prosecutors. Security officials had been aware of the suspect since 2020.
Darknet refers to a hidden part of the internet often used for illegal transactions and anonymous communications. This case highlights the growing threat posed by such covert online spaces. The detention of the suspect marks a significant step in countering terrorism and violent extremism that endangers society.
In an era of globalization and rapid technological change, law enforcement must continue refining its methods to detect and neutralize these emerging dangers.
