Trump's Special Envoy on Ukraine May Be a Native of Russia, - NYT.
Donald Trump's legal coordinator, Boris Epstein, has offered his assistance in establishing peace between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. This was reported by the publication 'Hvylya' citing the New York Times.
During Trump's first personal meeting with President Biden, one of Trump's assistants suggested Epstein for the position of special envoy for the Russian-Ukrainian war. Boris Epstein is a native of Russia who spent his childhood in Russia and has relatives in both the Russian Federation and Ukraine. His biography does not include experience in the field of Ukraine's foreign policy.
Trump listened with interest to Epstein's proposal, neither rejecting it nor committing to it. However, it is noted that Trump has already granted his advisor extraordinary powers and is willing to heed his advice more than that of others. Epstein has taken a very influential position, even though he does not hold an official position. His influence is recognized even by those who view him negatively.
It is also noted that Epstein is under investigation in Arizona along with several other Trump allies on charges of attempting to overturn the 2020 elections. However, this has not prevented him from holding an influential position and being one of the most influential figures during the transition period.
