SBU detained a Russian spy in Lviv region: she filmed airfields for the occupiers.
In the Lviv region, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) caught a Russian agent who was spying on the military aviation airfields of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the western part of the country. This wrongdoer was supposed to transmit the coordinates of the operational airfields with combat helicopters of the Defense Forces to the enemy. This was reported by the SBU on Monday, August 11.
Actions of the enemy agent
According to the investigation, the Russian special services contacted a 38-year-old unemployed local woman through Telegram channels, offering her an easy way to earn money. They recruited her for fire adjustment. Following the instructions from Russia, the agent inspected the area, trying to identify the airfields where the Armed Forces of Ukraine were based. If she discovered such objects, she set up hidden cameras with additional power sources and remote access for the enemies.

It is noted that this way, the enemies hoped to track the presence and movement directions of Ukrainian aircraft.
Detention of the enemy agent
The SBU employees identified the informant early in her activity and caught her red-handed when she was trying to install a new video recorder near a possible target. The military counterintelligence of the SBU timely stopped the espionage activities and ensured the safety of the Armed Forces locations. During a search of the suspect's premises, they found a smartphone containing evidence of her criminal activities. She is currently charged with unauthorized dissemination of information about the Armed Forces in conditions of explosion. She remains in custody without the right to bail and could face up to 8 years in prison.
The Lviv region became a place of collaboration between Russian intelligence and a local resident who sought an 'easy way to make money' in everyday life. The actions of the enemy agent could have seriously undermined the country's defense capabilities, but thanks to the promptness of the Security Service, this was avoided. Ukrainian special services continue to work for the benefit of the country, revealing and neutralizing threats from Russia.Read also
