The True Purpose of the Investment Giant in Ukraine.
This year, a top manager of the international financial group BlackRock will visit Ukraine. This became known immediately after a video conference between Volodymyr Zelensky and Larry Fink.
The matter is that the Ukrainian side is asking the investment giant to explain all the advantages of cooperating with BlackRock. It is the company representative who must "lay out" its functions and role so that it is possible to further attract foreign investments.
One of BlackRock's representatives stated that the consultations for Ukraine are not of a commercial nature. Essentially, they are working pro bono.
The next step for Americans is to create a special structure in the war-torn country, similar to a company or fund. It is through this structure that international investors will be attracted.
The main goal of the new structure is to assist in the reconstruction and recovery of the Ukrainian economy. At the same time, the investors themselves believe that the main burden will fall on Ukraine's shoulders.
It should be understood that the right tools are needed to create the right conditions.
As Mark Bubeck comments, attracting private investors has many problems and risks. First of all, a creative and unconventional approach is needed. He also explained where exactly the investments will be directed.
To agriculture, energy, manufacturing, information technology, and infrastructure. The recovery of the Ukrainian economy also presents an opportunity to "build back better," in accordance with best practices.
Regarding official agreements, BlackRock works with Ukraine based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). It was signed at the end of 2022.
The created fund is to direct foreign capital to the modernization and development of the country's economy.
International experts confirm that the relationship between BlackRock and the Ukrainian economy is very important. It is the reputation of the company that can ensure the flow of investors.
