US State Department claims: The Western Hemisphere is ours, hinting at the Monroe Doctrine.
According to ТСН: The US State Department has released an important statement asserting that the Western Hemisphere is American territory. This information was published on social media X.
“This is our hemisphere, and President Trump will not allow our security to be threatened.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has expressed the same position.
“This is the Western Hemisphere. This is where we live — and we will not allow the Western Hemisphere to become a base for adversaries, competitors, and rivals of the United States.”
This statement references the historical Monroe Doctrine, proclaimed in 1823 by US President James Monroe, which stated: “America for Americans.” It proposed a division of the world into spheres of influence between the US and Europe, urging Americans not to interfere in European conflicts while forbidding European countries from intervening in the affairs of independent countries in America.
“The Monroe Doctrine is a big deal, but we have vastly surpassed it — very significantly. According to our new national security strategy, American dominance in the Western Hemisphere will never again be questioned.”
President Trump also joked, referring to US foreign policy as the “Donro Doctrine” in reference to his name.
The State Department also published an image with a caption in Russian stating: “President Trump is a man of action. Didn’t know? — Now you know. Don’t play games with President Trump.”
In conclusion, on January 3, Donald Trump ordered to strike at Venezuela. Later he claimed that the American military captured, along with his wife, Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.
Thus, the statement from the State Department emphasizes the continuation of American dominance policy in Latin America, confirming the important strategic priorities of the US. In the context of the history of American foreign policy, disputes continue around new challenges in the region, especially regarding the influence of Russia and its allies. The situation around Venezuela remains tense, and the actions of the American administration may lead to further escalation of the conflict.
