The US has issued an ultimatum to Israel to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip

The United States of America has set conditions before Israel regarding the improvement of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. They warned that if the demands are not met, they may limit military aid. This is the strictest warning from the US since the beginning of the war between Israel and Hamas a year ago.

According to Reuters, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin wrote a letter to Israeli officials, demanding specific steps to address the situation in the Palestinian enclave.

"We are particularly concerned that the recent actions of the Israeli government ... are contributing to the accelerated deterioration of conditions in Gaza," the letter emphasizes.

The US demands from Israel within 30 days: ensure the entry of at least 350 humanitarian aid trucks into Gaza daily; establish pauses in military actions for aid delivery; cancel orders for the evacuation of Palestinian civilians when it is not necessary.

If the demands are not met, the US may reconsider its policy towards Israel, referring to a law that prohibits providing military aid to countries that hinder the delivery of American humanitarian aid.

The US administration expresses concern about restrictions on commercial imports, bans on the movement of humanitarian cargo between northern and southern Gaza, and "harsh and unfair" restrictions on the import of goods into Gaza.

A White House spokesperson emphasizes that the letter is "not a threat," but underscores the urgent need to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Israel states that it takes this matter seriously and intends to discuss the concerns expressed in the letter with its American counterparts.
