The USA accelerates the transfer of 840 long-range ERAM missiles to Ukraine: contract details.

According to inkorr.com: Ukraine is preparing to receive the first batch of new long-range aerial cruise missiles ERAM from the United States. The transfer of these missiles is being expedited by the Pentagon, and by October 2025, Ukraine will receive the first prototypes. A total of 840 ERAM missiles, manufactured by CoAspire (Virginia) and Zone 5 Technologies (California), are expected to be delivered by the end of October 2026.

Specifications of the ERAM missiles

• Type: long-range aerial cruise missile, air-surface class.
• Range: up to 463 km (250 nautical miles).
• Warhead weight: about 250-260 kg, with options for armor-piercing or fragmentation-high explosive effects.
• Accuracy: CEP ≤ 10 meters, with the ability to operate in conditions of active electronic countermeasures.
• Purpose: targeting land and sea objects. The modular design allows the missile to be adapted for various tasks.

According to Aviation Week magazine, these missiles were developed in just 14 months after the tender was announced in August 2024, which is a very rapid pace for the U.S. defense industry. During the initial tests, the ERAM missiles were tested on Douglas A-4 and MiG-29 aircraft.

The Pentagon also intends to procure these missiles for its own needs and for at least three foreign customers, including Ukraine. The possibility of integrating these missiles into the U.S. Air Force is being considered, which would enhance their potential for air strikes.

The supply of new long-range ERAM missiles from the U.S. to Ukraine opens new opportunities for the Ukrainian army in the context of escalating geopolitical situations in the region. This will strengthen defense capabilities and improve response to potential threats.
