USA to Consult with EU Before Trump-Putin Meeting: What We Know.
The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, announced that the USA plans to consult with Europe before the scheduled meeting between Presidents Trump and Putin. The preliminary summit is scheduled for August 15 in Alaska.
This is reported by The Guardian.
According to Tusk, it is very important to support Ukraine's territorial integrity during the negotiations, as it concerns not only solidarity but also the security of the countries in the region.
'There are various discussions and expectations regarding the Trump-Putin meeting. Nevertheless, the actions of the American president can sometimes be unpredictable', the Prime Minister of Poland emphasized.
Tusk also noted that some aspects of Putin's territorial proposals appear 'accelerated' and 'difficult to understand why this is unacceptable' for Ukraine.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that European countries intend to consult with Trump before his meeting with Putin to align positions before possible negotiations with the Kremlin. Meanwhile, the leaders of Europe and the Baltics emphasized the importance of considering Ukraine's position and security issues in Europe in any agreements.
