The state logistics operator (DLO) has begun conducting tenders for the procurement of products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the first half of 2025. The daily cost of food for soldiers will be nearly 155 hryvnias. This was reported by the DLO.

«As of today, two procedures have already been announced for a total amount of over 20 billion hryvnias. The expected cost of one food package is 154 hryvnias and 98 kopecks. This is 11% higher than the expected cost declared for the second half of 2024 (the cost of the package was determined at 139 hryvnias and 38 kopecks)», – noted the press service.

The DLO explained that two main sources of information are used to form the expected cost: market commercial proposals from operators and the actual cost of the package this year, which is indexed taking into account the projected inflation for 2025.

The specified amount will ensure that soldiers are fed with quality food taking into account calorie content, variety, and the direct needs of the servicemen.

The head of the DLO's nutrition program, Halyna Litosh, stated that the justified formation of the expected cost of the package is an investment in the future ability of the system to provide food to soldiers continuously.

In September, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine began checking the food supply system for soldiers in the northern, eastern, and southern directions. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces, the DLO, and veterinary medicine experts participated in the checks.

The state logistics operator plans to update the food supply model for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Starting from January 2025, the DLO will operate under both new and 'old' supply models. This was discussed at an event that the DLO and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy held regarding food supply for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Vysotsky, stated that Ukrainian agricultural producers can meet up to 95% of the Armed Forces' food needs.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced a change in the approach to preparing dry rations for servicemen. Now the assortment will be expanded to consider the religious, medical, and ethical needs of the military.
