Authorities Respond to Odesa Shooting Incident
According to TSN.ua: A civilian man was shot at by individuals in military uniforms while attempting to flee during an altercation in Odesa. The incident, captured on video and circulated on Telegram channels on February 26, shows the man in civilian clothes running from the group before shots were fired. These events occur against a backdrop of heightened societal tension in Ukraine, where the conduct of security personnel is under increased scrutiny.
Lyubov Gordiyevska, spokeswoman for the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, confirmed that no emergency calls to numbers 102 or 103 had been registered at the time the video was discovered.
"We are clarifying the circumstances. At the moment we saw this video, there were no calls to 102 or 103," she stated.
Investigation into Beating of Pensioner Continues
Separately, in Kharkiv, an investigation is ongoing into the beating of 54-year-old pensioner and State Emergency Service employee Vadym Rudyuk by staff of a Territorial Recruitment Center. According to reports, Rudyuk suffered a concussion and bruises, and police have already opened criminal proceedings related to the incident. A representative of the Odesa Regional Recruitment Center said:
"We are establishing the circumstances of the event, so we are not providing official comments at this time."
These incidents have caused public concern and require thorough investigation by law enforcement. Both the police and the recruitment centers are actively working to clarify all circumstances surrounding the events.
