Court removes electronic bracelet from Mukachevo Mayor Baloga.
The Higher Anti-Corruption Court allowed the removal of the electronic bracelet from Mukachevo Mayor Andriy Baloga. This was reported by Baloga's lawyer Yevhen Starcev.
According to the lawyer, the HACC made the corresponding decision on August 23. The court also allowed Andriy Baloga to leave the city of Mukachevo within the limits of Zakarpattia.
There was a motion to change obligations, the judge considered it during the hearing and satisfied it. Henceforth, the acting mayor of Mukachevo has permission to leave the boundaries of his city up to the borders of Zakarpattia. This is related to his performance of official duties, the HACC press service reported.
The mayor of Mukachevo and other individuals are suspected of abusing their official position with the aim of selling a municipal land plot of more than 3 hectares at a reduced price.
Andriy Baloga was taken into custody on June 26. He is a suspect in the case of selling land at a reduced price. The HACC chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention with the possibility of bail set at 30 million UAH.

Law enforcement officers exposed the mayor and the head of the district council in Zakarpattia for abusing their official position with the aim of selling a land plot in the city center of more than 3 hectares at a reduced price.
The mayor ensured the decision at a city council session to sell the plot to a private company at a price reduced by almost nine times. The controller of this company is the head of the district council, a former MP.
