Only 16 hours left until the New Year: how the world is preparing for the celebrations.
According to ТСН: Only 16 hours left until the New Year in Ukraine, and the world is actively preparing for the celebration. Organizers of New Year's events are finalizing preparations while law enforcement intensifies security in public places.
Celebrations Around the World
Australia will be one of the first countries to welcome the New Year. In Sydney, where it is currently 5 PM, residents are undergoing security checks and taking the best spots by the harbor to enjoy the spectacular fireworks.
London is also actively preparing for its festive fireworks display. An impressive 12-minute show is planned, with fireworks launching from three barges on the Thames and from the world-famous London Eye. The fireworks at the attraction will be set up only four hours before the New Year while the wheel continues to ride tourists.
In New York, preparations have been completed for the descent of the famous crystal ball in Times Square, which symbolizes the beginning of the New Year. This year, the celebration will be special: at midnight, the ball will traditionally drop, but after four minutes, it will rise again in the colors of the American flag, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the country's independence, which will be celebrated next year.
New Year’s Omens
In addition to ensuring a successful 2026, folk omens advise adhering to six important prohibitions on New Year's Eve. This will help maintain peace, prosperity, and confidence in the future.
The New Year celebrations in different countries reflect the traditions and culture of each nation. In Ukraine, as around the world, winter holidays always provide an opportunity to gather with family and friends to celebrate the beginning of a new cycle together. Following traditions and omens, we hope for a bright and happy future.
