Syrskyi on the Independence of Ukraine: It is not given, it is defended.
According to FREEДOM: Ukrainians celebrate the 34th anniversary of independence with a fight. For 12 years they have been fighting for freedom, and for four years they have been repelling a full-scale Russian invasion. This was stated today, August 24, by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, as reported by FREEДОМ.
He emphasized that the Ukrainian people will never submit and will not give up their independence. 'True independence is impossible without a strong and modern army. Our army pays the highest price for the right of the people to be free. We remember every fallen soldier... We thank everyone who holds the line and moves forward in this powerful formation. Who fights for freedom with weapons in hand and destroys the enemy. Who strengthens our defense and supports our army,' the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.
Syrskyi is confident that the best guarantor of Ukraine's independence is its army. 'I am convinced: we will defend our independence. Its best guarantor is our army. Every brave soldier, sergeant, and officer,' he said.
