F-16 Technician Veronica Talks About Service, Challenges, and Dreams.
The technician of the multi-purpose F-16 fighter from the Air Force, Veronica, who has always dreamed of becoming an officer, has fulfilled her dream thanks to training in Denmark and the United Kingdom.
For Veronica, this was a new challenge. She had to quickly master a large amount of information and cope with new technical standards, as well as work in English.
The instructors provided us with detailed explanations, shared their experiences, and answered our questions. They understand that we are preparing not just for training, but for real missions.
Thanks to the assistance of foreign partners, Veronica and other Ukrainian military quickly mastered the new technology and are now using their skills to protect our skies. Partners continue to help Ukraine improve skills and strengthen defense.
Veronica emphasizes that her work is not only technically responsible but also emotionally tense. Each flight is a risk, and she worries about her pilots.
The hardest part is the waiting. After takeoff, every minute feels like eternity until you see the plane returning. Only then can you finally relieve the tension.
After defending her country, Veronica dreams of getting married and having children. She wants to live in a free country where there is no war.
Earlier, a pilot from the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade congratulated Ukrainian women on International Women's Day from a Su-27 aircraft, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, also congratulated Ukrainian women on this holiday.
The question of the status of March 8 as a public holiday takes on new significance in Ukraine. Despite this, flower vendors in Kyiv offer a rich selection of festive arrangements.
Additionally, jewelry stores are arranging big sales ahead of March 8.
A proposal to cancel the March 8 holiday was considered in the Verkhovna Rada, but the majority of Ukrainians in a poll on 'Diia' expressed support for keeping International Women's Day as a holiday.
Recently, the popularity of March 8 in Ukraine has been declining, but this year the percentage of positive attitudes has slightly increased compared to last year.
