Woman Formally Suspected in Lviv Terror Attack

According to Novyny.live: A 33-year-old woman from Kostopil in the Rivne region has been formally notified of suspicion for carrying out a terrorist act in Lviv. The attack, which involved two remotely detonated explosions on the night of February 22, resulted in the death of 23-year-old police officer Viktoriia Shpylka and injured more than 20 others. The suspect allegedly planted the explosives before fleeing the scene by taxi.

Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, urgently traveled to Lviv to coordinate the law enforcement response. Prosecutors are preparing a motion to have the suspect held in custody without the possibility of bail. According to investigators, she was promised a reward of 60,000 hryvnias for executing the attack.

“The suspicion is based on objective evidence indicating the detainee committed a terrorist act that took the life of a 23-year-old police officer and led to injuries for more than 20 other people,” said Nazar Markiv, a representative of law enforcement agencies.

Condition of the Injured

Information on the condition of the injured remains limited, but it is confirmed that over 20 people were hurt in the blasts. Doctors are working to provide the necessary medical assistance to the victims of the terror attack.
