Tesco removes useful online shopping feature: customers outraged.
TESCO removes popular feature from website
According to The Sun: TESCO has canceled an important feature on its website, causing the time required for online shopping to double.
Previously, the website allowed customers to enter or paste a shopping list, enabling them to quickly search for multiple products at once, streamlining the product selection process.
GettyHowever, this feature disappeared last month, sparking outrage among users who now have to search for items individually, which takes more time.
One user expressed on X.com:
“Using the app or website, the store that used the list seems to have vanished.”
Another added:
“Shopping with a list is now a major hassle. It makes shopping almost twice as long.”
Another user voiced frustration on Reddit.com:
“I'm not happy because I used this list for items I don't order weekly. It takes twice as long to place an order… ”
A fourth user also expressed outrage:
“What a shame they removed this great feature – it’s a big loss.”
On Trustpilot.com, one customer noted how useful this feature was for using recipes from the Internet:
“Delivery from TESCO used to be great… They had the ability to search by list, which allowed pasting a list from a recipe and quickly selecting products, but now it’s gone for no obvious reason.”
Sainsbury’s still offers a 'List Search' feature on its website, while Waitrose has a similar feature called 'Multi Search'.
TESCO commented on the situation, stating they are trying to simplify the shopping process:
“We are always looking for ways to simplify the shopping experience for our customers.”
The company also added:
“When shopping online, customers can access personalized lists that include products they regularly buy and details of their previous orders.”
For convenient shopping on the TESCO app or website, users can click on the 'Favorites' section, which displays products they are accustomed to buying or have bought before.
Clubcard app customers can also pre-build their shopping list for in-store use, allowing them to check product availability and location, as well as receive Clubcard Price discounts.
It is worth noting that the cancellation of this popular feature, as seen from user feedback, has significantly impacted the convenience of online shopping. While competitors like Sainsbury's and Waitrose continue to support similar functionalities, TESCO offers alternative solutions, hoping they will compensate for the inconvenience caused by the loss of the shopping list feature.
